Write a blog post where you explain how you got the idea for the game, what inspired you, if you did get some inspiration from Minecraft, acknowledge it.Quite often, they will turn around and decide to try the game simply because you replied. People like to be heard by the developer, and really like getting an answer straight from you. People like Minecraft so if you say something bad about it, you are "the enemy". Don't make it a better/worse argument, just different. ![]() Instead, acknowledge it is a good game and explain what makes your game different. Some advice on best way to handle it in my experience: So I was just wondering if anybody could tell me if this is too much like a minecraft style game, and if it is if they have any ideas how to veer it off that track. ![]() sorry, I am just worried that people might think of this as a minecraft like game. ![]() The point of the game is to roam the vast world and do something, I am not going to say what it is because i think it is a pretty good idea. You will be able to dig to find hidden dungeons that hold amazing and rare things, that i am not going to give away, and build houses, but that is not the point of the game, that is just something that I plan on adding to make the user feel more connected to the world. The only problem i have is that i really want to make the world out of cubes and blocks because that is much more simpler and easier to design and model, but I am worried people are going to think it looks too much like minecraft. Ok, so I have a design for this game that I am thinking of building, it is going to be an open world-sandbox type of game.
